Inspired by the raging controversy (see Drudge for details) over the forthcoming CBS "biopic" movie purporting to present a historical view of Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan.  James Brolin-Streisand plays Ronal Reagan and Judy Davis plays Nancy Reagan.  The factual inaccuracies (conceded by critics on the Left as well as the Right) comprise mean-spirited distortions of history, which made me recall the "wisdom" of Barbara Streisand deploring the descent of political discussion from being "eloquent" into being "mean-spirited":

“[Republican control of the House has resulted in] poison in the water, salmonella in the food, carbon dioxide in the air and toxic waste in the ground.”-- October, 2002 [source]

 

"It used to be in politics that there was a certain amount of class and eloquence. The debate was civilized even though there were strong disagreements over deeply important questions. But, as usual, the Republicans have resorted to name-calling and mean-spiritedness." -- February, 2003 [source]

    to warn Daschle/Gephardt against being lax
    opposing attack
    by us in Iraq
    'cause Babs can't see dots that connect to Iraq.

    Since Streisand is blind to the dots in the mixture,
    she's seeking a way to keep Dubya in strictures
    preventing attack
    by Bush on Iraq
    'til Saddam Hussein has completed the picture.·

Inspired by Drudge's September 26, 2002, on-line publication of text of a fax from Streisand to Daschle and Gephardt telling them to prevent Bush from attacking Iraq because, she asserts, *"Hussein did not bomb the World Trade Center."  Since critics like Streisand have often implied the 9-11 attack occurred because the Bush administration and/or the CIA and/or the FBI failed to "connect the dots," one must infer that with respect to Iraq, she'd prefer to avoid connecting any dots to Hussein and apparently would prefer to wait until his actions have completed the picture for us. --Jim Wrenn, Editor@PoliSat.Com..

    The writers for TeeVee and movies
    and bosses they call their "il duces"
    have reached an agreement
    for mutual appeasement
    so actors can speak in the movies.

    And writers for all entertainers
    have fin'lly agreed on retainers.
    So now they'll continue
    preparing the menu
    of words for our best entertainers.

    In good things some bad can be seen,
    so what could be wrong with this scene?
    The writing of lines
    will give us more whines
    from Baldwin and Streisand and Sheen.

    In paeans to Clinton and Gore,
    interpreting Streisand's a chore.
    The language she sings
    is called Clintonese
    which makes understanding a chore.
    Says Streisand, the expert on People, 
    "The best are the ones who need people."
    Such words are ironic
    because in Clinphonics 
    it means the best people knead people.
