Al-Jazeera loses position as leading source of anti-Bush propaganda to American-based competitors, Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya; prisoner-abuse at Abu-Ghraib in Iraq; John Kerry's silence says "thanks for the cover" to Al Gore and Ted Kennedy for eclipsing Al-Jazeera.·

A top Al-Jazeera executive expressed alarm that his network has lost its position as the leading source of anti-Bush propaganda to American-based competitors Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya.  The executive, who insisted on anonymity, made this statement to PoliSat.Com's Middle-East Bureau Drawer Chief.  He said that SpielSome Ratings (the Middle East counterpart of the Nielsen Ratings), a majority of the news audience in the Middle East now rates information from Al-Jazeera as being a less-reliable source of anti-American propaganda than the American-based Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya.

When asked what could be the cause of this trend, the Al-Jazeera executive offered a surprisingly candid assessment:  "Although both Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya have been gaining on us for quite a while, they didn't pass us until they began focusing on reports of prisoner-abuse at Abu-Ghraib.  What seems to have propelled them ahead of us were their assertions that such abuse constituted official American policy from the top-down rather than aberrational misconduct at lower levels."  He added, "Our criticisms of the Americans were, of course, quite harsh, and although we did make token efforts to liken the abuses to those under Saddam Hussein, we knew that most of our listeners would construe such comparisons as metaphorical overstatements, but the status of Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya as American sources equating abuses of prisoners by Americans with torture inflicted under Saddam Hussein conferred greater credibility upon such claims."

When asked how Al-Jazeera plans to regain the lead, he said, "We have a plan that will quickly restore our rightful place as the worldwide leader of Anti-American propaganda."   He asked, "Remember 'Wag the Dog'?"  Then he explained that Al-Jazeera now has the production skills to do the same.  He said that soon Al Jazeera will feature what will appear to be pictures of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld riding the backs of naked prisoners being led on leashes by Private England.  Another fake video will appear to show Bush and Rumsfeld conferring with Extra-Terrestrial Aliens to coordinate UFO flights over Iran and Iraq.

"But those fake tapes alone won't be enough," he added.  "We must also discredit Al-GorZero and Al-JaTeddya to regain our audience.  When asked how Al-Jazeera would do that, he said they would begin broadcasting video tapes of speeches made by Ted Kennedy and Al Gore during the Clinton Administration describing Saddam Hussein as a threat to the region, to the United States and to world peace, describing the dangerous scope of his stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction and propensity to use them, and asserting the need for the United States to topple his regime.

Meanwhile, controversy continued to rage in the United States over recent speeches by Al Gore and Ted Kennedy attempting to out-Al-Jazeera Al-Jazeera.  Although many politicians expressed disgust at their statements equating American "policy" with Saddam Hussein's policy of cutting-off political opponents' tongues, ears, and hands, John Kerry remained silent about their statements.  Unanswered is the question of whether such silence can be construed other than as tacit approval.

Al-GorZero Eclipses Al-Jazeera.

With scowls practiced well in the mirror
and screams beating Dean's I draw nearer
to gaining the lead
in venomous screeds--
Already, I've passed Al-Jazeera.

Proclaiming my goal is to lower
the risk in Iraq to our soldiers,
I labeled abuse
of pris'ners by few
as widespread techniques by our soldiers.

So what if my words over-state
abuses inside Abu-Ghraib?
And, further, so what
if poses I strut
make more soldiers targets of hate?

To prove to the Left I'm as steady
in hatred for Dubya as Teddy,
conjoined I became
with Ted to defame
the Dubya for John as his mesne.¹

Kerry's Mute Salute.

In order to seem more astute,
my thanks must, of course, remain mute
to Albert and Ted
conjoined with my head
for slanders I dare not salute.

¹ "Mesne" (mez-ne) is legal jargon for "Middle; intervening; as, a mesne lord, that is, a lord who holds land of a superior, but grants a part of it to another person, in which case he is a tenant to the superior, but lord or superior to the second grantee, and hence is called the mesne lord."

Michael Moore and Quentin Tarantino emulate Alexandra Kerry to symbolize New Age See-Through Impressionism sub nom "'Non-Political' Documentarianism" to celebrate winning the coveted Vichy-French 'Triumph of the Will' Award for "Fare In Hype Nein Enleavened" sub nom "Farenheit 9-11" at the Cannes Film Festival.·

The Left Bank and Left Coast are still celebrating Michael Moore's winning of the Cannes Film Festival's most coveted prize, the Vichy French "Triump of the Will" Award for Non-Political Documentarianism, for Moore's "Fare In Hype Nein Enleavened" sub nom "Farenheit 9-11."  To satisfy what the Committee described as a "worldwide clamor" of Moore's admirers, the Committee's spokes-person established a perpetual press-conference schedule.

Despite the celebratory atmosphere, a spokes-person for the Committee that voted the award expressed "shock" that PoliSat.Com's Euro-Bureau Chief had the gall -- especially while in France-- to question whether the Committee's giving of the award to Moore's film constituted an anti-American "political statement."   In response to the question, the spokes-person indignantly stated that Quentin Tarantino was on the verge of providing directly to the "unwashed masses" an erudite, intellectually nuanced explanation of the reasons for which "anti-American" views are objectively correct and hence "non-political."   The spokesman abruptly ended the press conference in response to PoliSat.Com's Euro-Bureau Chief's follow-up question asking why Tarantino was planning to direct such explanation exclusively to the French rather than to the entire world.  Several hours later, PoliSat.Com's EuroBureau Chief received a persona non grata revocation of his "license" to participate as a questioner in any further news coverage of the celebratory events.

Undaunted by such action, PoliSat.Com's Euro-Bureau Chief managed to regain membership in the press-pool by creating the appearance of a French Connection by disguising himself as an Oppressed Baathist.  This new, less-restricted access enabled our Euro-Bureau Chief to later record Michael Moore and Quentin Tarantino jointly leading a march to a coffee shop frequented by the French intellectual.  The purpose of the march was to further celebrate Moore having won the award.  To symbolize the artistically daring nature of the "intellectual nuance" of Moore's "New Age See-Through Impressionism" sub nom "Non-Political Documentarianism," they emulated the social daring of one of the leading jet-set fashion-plates of the Left Bank and Left Coast glitteratti, Alexandra Kerry.  Using an extra Al Jazeera video camera borrowed from the Oppressed Baathists contingent in the press pool, our Euro-Bureau Chief was able to record Moore and Tarantino poetically expressing their mutual admiration.

Fare In Hype Nein Enleavened.

When we here in Cannes took a gander
at your unabashed propaganda,
a term we devised
to give you a prize:
Nouveau Non-Political Slander.

I'm glad you've approved my obsession
for hawking my see-through impressions
to libel and slander
the Yankee Commander
to hawk my artistic expressions.

Allow me a fleeting digression--
A moment to make a confession
Our vote was inspired
when Kerry conspired
to thrill us with see-through impressions.

We're happy in using our freedoms
to mock war on terrorist fiefdoms
because we contend
our safety depends
on words we should say to entreat 'em.

Your steadfast refusal to leaven
your film, "Fare In Hype Nein Enleavened"
with facts made it vital
to sell it re-titled
sub nom "Farenheit 9-11."

The prize we awarded at Cannes
is proof of the spiritual bond
as Left-Bankers toast
our Yankee Left Coast
for lobbing political bombs.

And now let's resume our digression
by leading a Leftist procession
in which we'll be dressed
in special effects
for flaunting our see-through impressions.

Abuse of Iraqi Prisoners at Abu Ghraib:  Al Jazeera-- Same Propaganda, New Management; Saddam Hussein, Donald Rumsfeld, George W. Bush; Ted Kennedy; CBS News; Photographs; Abusive Mistreatment versus Torture; Humiliation versus Cutting-off tongues and ears; Due Process; Whistle-Blowers; Courts Martial.·

How paradoxical it is that while Ted Kennedy was making speeches falsely, speciously and irresponsibly equating American management of Abu-Ghraib prison with the barbaric practices of Saddam Hussein's regime, a Walid M. Sadi, a Jordanian editor of a Jordanian newspaper expressed opinions on the subject more favorable to America than Kennedy's diatribe.  Portions of Mr. Sadi's commentary warrant quotation here:

All doubts about the US military personnel's responsibility are now dispersed. In all fairness, though, the degree of culpability does not go as high enough as to suggest that the abuses of Iraqi prisoners constituted a state policy. There is now no suggestion that the wrongdoings of US interrogators constituted an institutional policy on the part of Washington. The fact that the US system of government went all out to search for answers and explanations for what went wrong in the chain of command that led to the abuses of Iraqis is telling. Few countries in the world would have gone that far in exposing themselves to such scrutiny. This much credit must be given to the US system of government.

Sure, torture is widespread in the world and many countries which came forward to condemn the US abuses of Iraqis have, themselves, the worst record on torture. What this whole issue is about, nevertheless, is the high expectations everybody has from the US.

The world expected much more from the US and got much less.

Countries across the board are now being served clear notices that they cannot expect to be absolved of responsibility when abuses occur in their jails. It is hoped that from now on the issue of torture will figure higher on societies' agendas and the fight against it will pick up speed worldwide. [Source]

Thus, unlike Ted Kennedy, Mr. Sadi:  (a) condemned the "abuses" without overstating them, (b) made clear that many countries condemning such "abuse" routinely apply "torture," and (c) gave credit to the United States for being willing to do what such other countries refuse to do-- i.e., admit the wrongful conduct, take steps to terminate it, and punish the wrongdoers.  Has John Kerry denounced Kennedy's statements with even a fraction of the vehemence with which he characterizes mere criticisms of his voting record as "attacks on his patriotism"?  Of course he hasn't.

A speech Teddy recently uttered
made charges so stark it sent shudders:
A Kennedy speech
that typically preached
a theory from partisan gutters.

Comparing Saddam Hussein's management
of prisons with torture for management
of tongues to detach,
claims Ted, Bush dispatched
our troops as mere changes in management.

In war, Ted seeks partisan banishment
of old-time bi-partisan management
with charges to mirror
Mid-East's Al Jazeera--
The same propaganda, new management.

The reason I'm picking on Teddy?
Because for the Left he's most steady
in twisting the news
with talent that proves
to run Al Jazeera he's ready.

That mere common-sense erudition
contrasts, not compares, the conditions
in Abu-Ghraib chapters
"before" and then "after"
shows Ted propagandized conditions.

Twas known that Saddam Hussein managed
his prisons to keep his advantage
for ruling by fear
by cutting-off ears
and tongues to maintain his advantage.

In toppling Saddam, massive graves
were found as were video-tapes
of ruling by fear
by cutting-off ears
and tongues at that place, "Abu Ghraib."

When prisons Americans seized,
they ended such torture and grief,
but later a few
have disobeyed rules
against lesser means to cause grief.

But yet an American soldier
upon his becoming beholder
of photograph views
of pris'ner abuse
reported such wrongs by such soldiers.

On learning the charge thus imparted,
the chain of command promptly started
the right thing to do:
Investigate who
from proper procedure departed.

Instead of attempting to hide
the fact that such charges abide,
they told the whole world
the facts they'd unfurl
when charges are ripe to be tried.

However, before the procedures
were finished a criminal leaker
gave CBS News
some pictures to view
by breaking due process procedures.

To General Myers' request
that news for the "eye" CBS
delay exhibition
of photo-depictions,
the answer was "no" 'stead of "yes."

By showing such pictures before
due process could open the door,
CBS thus preempted
the process invented
for courts-martial opening doors.

So, eagerly, CBS News
for profit was willing to skew
the news in a way
to falsely convey
the Army was "hiding" such news.

At CBS News they preferred
the profits they knew they'd incur
by premature showing
of pictures exploding
the risks for our troops to be hurt.

The worst still remained yet to come
from partisan beating of gums
oblivious to
the dangers to troops
with words to taint all 'stead of some.

The worst was the claim that was uttered
in language so stark it sent shudders:
A Kennedy speech
that pompously preached
a theory from partisan gutters.

Comparing Saddam Hussein's management
of prisons with torture for management
of tongues to detach,
claims Ted, Bush dispatched
our troops as mere changes in management.

In war, Ted seeks partisan banishment
of old-time bi-partisan management
with charges to mirror
Mid-East's Al Jazeera--
The same propaganda, new management.
