2008 Super Bowl ads on Global Warming provide half-time debut for the "GoreMobile" invented by Al Gore to "end dependence on fossil fuels."  While the collective professoriate engage in self-congratulatory self-description of an academic consortium as the "super bowl" of "scientific" knowledge on "global warming," people with better sense mock the global-warming theology paraded by academia as scientific "knowledge."

The absence of severe hurricanes in the 2006 and 2007 seasons following dire predictions in 2005 in the immediate wake of Hurricane Katrina by "experts" on "global warming" that Katrina was the "first" of what would become a plague of super-hurricanes "caused" by "global warming" has led people misled by such claims to now recognize such assertions by such "experts" as expressions of theology rather than scientific knowledge.  In contrast, such absence of severe hurricanes in 2006 and 2007 has prompted "experts" on "global warming" to now claim (with straight faces and without apology) that the "scientific" evidence now shows that "global warming" actually reduces the risks of such super-hurricanes.  Except in the field of global-warming theology, this is called "heads we win, tails you lose."

Undaunted by the facts, Al Gore is forging ahead with his latest invention, the "GoreMobile," as a way to "end our dependence on fossil fuels."  Gore emphasizes that the basis upon which he acquired the insights into designing the revolutionary vehicle was that he had done what no one else had been able to do:  He broke the "code" of Global Warming.   When PoliSat.Com's Washington Bureau Drawer Chief asked Gore to explain "the code" and how he "broke it," Gore urged him to watch documentary about it which he produced as a "prequel" to "Inconvenient Truth."  He said the documentary, "Da Gorgle Code" is now available in video form with the best-quality, embeddable version in wmv format here and a lesser-quality version in YouTube's format here.   Meanwhile, a group of scientists in Iceland are expressing concerns about what is the "deepest freeze in Iceland" in a decade, and a prominent Russian scientist says the evidence shows Earth to be on the verge of a global cooling period.

The "global warming" controversy reminds those of us familiar with history that in the early 1970's the environmental "experts" were predicting the approach of a new "ice age" as well as the exhaustion of the world's entire reserves of oil well before the year 2000.  Adding to the irony is the fact that the current "global warming" experts are utterly unable to explain the incredible coincidence that the climate of Mars is also "warming."  As the now-deceased Mr. Rogers would have said, "Can you say 'Increases in solar radiation'?"

How are Patriots and Giants fans likely to react to Super Bowl ads promoting Gore's "global warming" theology?  Most experts think they'll be far more interested in beer commercials or on-line programming designed to lure Super Bowl viewers away from the "official" half-time.  However, other experts think most viewers will watch the "official" half-time even though they may have to endure watching political commercials because at least two "political" commercials parodying "GEICO" commercials were quite popular in 2007-- probably because both of them featured Sharon Stone appearing (in her normally riské fashion) with Hillary Clinton.  News-archive links to those two Sharon Stone/Hillary Clinton videos are here and here.  Some pundits think this year's Super Bowl viewers will be far more enthralled with one of Hillary's videos for the 2008 game, which will feature a "naked-silhouette spinning-Hillary" performance moderated by Bill Clinton.  Some pundits think Barack Obama's overwhelming victory over Hillary in the January 26, 2008, South Carolina primary despite (or perhaps because of) Bill Clinton's conduct in campaigning for Hillary may cause Hillary to stop "knocking" Barack, but other experts say the evidence is overwhelming that they will both continue "knocking" each other.
