Christmas thanks to our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world are being sent in record numbers, and PoliSat.Com joins the effort with Christmas Thanks to Troops video.·

By Jim Wrenn,

Editor and Washington Bureau Drawer Chief at PoliSat.Com.

December 23, 2007--

In record numbers, Americans are sending thanks to our troops this Christmas.   PoliSat.Com joins in this effort with the following message and accompanying video.  (If you prefer in-page viewing of YouTube versions, scroll down near the bottom of this page.)

This Christmas, if science had knowledge to forge a way to go backwards to time's distant shores, I think a particular Christmas of yore would help to remind us what soldiers at war endured so that freedom took root on our shores: In years backward 30 plus two hundred more-- 'Twas Christmas endured in a Valley named Forge.

While most of their countrymen gathered in warmth to celebrate Christmas, those solidiers at war endured at their  posts though their feelings were torn 'twist country and fam'ly, the burdens they'd born they knew to be worthy and knew there'd be more, but knowing the value of freedom they'd forge they stayed at their posts against tyranny's force.

And likewise go back a mere sixty-three years at Christmas when evil was bulging the fears of soldiers surrounded as Christmas-time neared who nevertheless carried-on despite fears secure in their knowledge that all they held dear to evil might lose unless THEY persevered, and triumph they did during Christmas that year.

And back to the Christmas at present, we know though winning we are there's a long way to go for those who for us into danger did go, so we who are basking in liberty's glow do owe it to them to make sure that they know how thankful we are they courageously go where danger abides so that freedom can grow.

If reading the text up above makes your mind believe it is written in rhythm and rhyme, and so, if you mind likes stanzas and lines, scroll down for the verses in stanzas and lines:

This Christmas, if science had knowledge to forge
a way to go backwards to time's distant shores,
I think a particular Christmas of yore
would help to remind us what soldiers at war
endured so that freedom took root on our shores:
In years backward 30 plus two hundred more--
Twas Christmas endured in a Valley named Forge.

While most of their countrymen gathered in warmth
to celebrate Christmas, those solidiers at war
endured at their posts though their feelings were torn
'twist country and fam'ly, the burdens they'd born
they knew to be worthy and knew there'd be more,
but knowing the value of freedom they'd forge
they stayed at their posts against tryanny's force.

And likewise go back a mere sixty-three years
at Christmas when evil was bulging the fears
of soldiers surrounded as Christmas-time neared
who nevertheless carried-on despite fears
secure in their knowledge that all they held dear
to evil might lose unless THEY perservered,
and triumph they did during Christmas that year.

And back to the Christmas at present, we know
though winning we are there's a long way to go
for those who for us into danger did go,
so we who are basking in liberty's glow
do owe it to them to make sure that they know
how thankful we are they courageously go
where danger abides so that freedom can grow.

Needless to say, mere words and videos are so inadequate to express appreciation for the courage being displayed and sacrifices being made on our behalf by our soldier, sailors, airmen, marines and coast-guardsmen.  Our collective wish is that by next Christmas (if not sooner), their successes will be even greater than now.
