At PoliSat-Com we obtained exclusive reports to explain the reasons behind
the plan to resign that yesterday Palin proclaimed. Says Palin:
"I
hereby resign as Gov'nor and thereby align myself not with hacks or punditry
tracts or other political mimes. Instead,
I'll be making my own forays in political zones selected by me so voters can see
the way from collectivist zones.
The tracks I'll be making will lead away from collectivist creeds and back to
the home where sensible tomes steadfastly tout liberty's creed. No
doubt my decision will shock the whole punditocracy flock, who fail to perceive
our most-urgent need: Re-set our political clocks. We
need to return to the time when those who would lead us design the actions they
take to best re-awake our hearing of liberty's chimes. And
thus, I'll be spending my time supporting the leaders I find who best re-awaken
the dreams now forsaken by leftist, collectivist mimes."
I finally close with a note in case as you read what I wrote you deemed the word usage and syntax effusive and think that good English I smote. Perhaps you've detected these lines are written in rhythm and rhyme-- If so,
cursor-down, 'cause there will be found these verses in stanzas and lines.

My inference of her motive for resigning now is that she fears the continuing slide into statism/collectivism that will accelerate unless someone with political star-power can help candidates seeking to unseat enough of the leftists to halt, if not reverse, the slide in 2010.
I think her primary focus is on 2010, not 2012. I think she’s more like the wife of that Bronco guy who was willing to put her organization’s best interests ahead of her own personal ambition.
At the same time, I don’t doubt that she also realizes (perhaps even expects) that to the extent her star-power for attention-getting, fund-raising and crowd-drawing for candidates in 2010 turns out to have been a significant factor in fracturing the current lock on the House and Senate by leftists, she would expect to have broadened support for herself as a possible candidate in
2012, but I still think that trying to avoid the virtually irreversible disaster the country would face absent fracturing the leftist stranglehold in 2010 is her primary concern.
I think she correctly believes that planning for 2012 is like planning to try to capture the collectivist horse long after it’s out of the barn. I think she correctly knows that all the chips are on the table in 2010.
Call me naive, but it’s my instinct that she cares more about that than about her career. There are few politicians who have
exhibited such country-first attitudes. One who recently did so was Joe Lieberman. Say what you will about Joe, but there’s no doubt in my mind that when the chips were down, he conscientiously and deliberately put his country’s interests ahead of his own political interests. Not that he doesn’t have some terrible ideas (swallows this Global Warming hogwash, supported McCain/Feingold, yada, yada, yada), but on National Security issues, he put the country’s interests first.
Regarding Palin, even though we all are sensibly cynical about most politicians’ motives for virtually anything they do, the fact is that there are people who are willing to put their country first by being willing to do what is not clearly in their own best interests in order to do what they believe to be in the country’s best interests. We have hundreds of thousands of them doing it right now– they’re called U.S. Military Personnel, and I don’t apologize for
this
link, the purpose of which is to honor and thank our
troops.
