July 15, 2009--

Obama named Sotomayor that empathy come to the fore in future renditions of SCOTUS decisions because "wise latinas" know more.  In hearngs, Judge Sotomayor was peppered with questions galore on statements she'd made in speeches she gave on wisdom:  "... Latina[s have] more...."

Denying she'd meant what she'd said, an opposite meaning she pled-- professing intent to say what she'd meant  in saying the words that she'd said.   Though often a person quite skilled in language and meanings may still misspeak on occasion, 'twas seven occasions in speeches those words she instilled.

Although she contended in fact the words she had spoken "fell flat," she'd nevertheless declined to divest from speeches the words falling "flat."   And thus, though she claims to have known such words yielded "falling flat" zones, she tells us:   "Ignore, and thus don't deplore, my words having meanings well-known."

And thus, the defense she's devised for calling "latina[s]" more wise invokes an old screed:  "What will you believe?  My words or your own lying eyes?"

Unspoken, remaining, there'll be the thoughts  and the knowledge that she will leave on the shelf to keep to herself 'til Justice confirmed she will be:  And once I'm a Justice empowered with precedent-altering powers, and thus not restrained by precedents plain,  I'll "say-what-I-mean" be empowered.  Though some think I plainly eschewed Obama's pro-emphathy view of Justices' functions, I'll prove his compunction to nominate me was quite shrewd.  'Cause once I'm a Justice I then will fully be free to invent the legal conclusion that redistribution of wealth was a founding intent.

I finally close with a note in case as you read what I wrote you deemed the word usage and syntax effusive and think that good English I smote. Perhaps you've detected these lines are written in rhythm and rhyme-- If so, cursor-down, 'cause there will be found these verses in stanzas and lines.

Obama named Sotomayor
that empathy come to the fore
in future renditions
of SCOTUS decisions
because "wise latinas" know more.

In hearngs, Judge Sotomayor
was peppered with questions galore
on statements she'd made
in speeches she gave
on wisdom:  "... Latina[s have] more...."

Denying she'd meant what she'd said,
an opposite meaning she pled--
professing intent
to say what she'd meant
in saying the words that she'd said.

Though often a person quite skilled
in language and meanings may still
misspeak on occasion,
'twas seven occasions
in speeches those words she instilled.

Although she contended in fact
the words she had spoken "fell flat,"
she'd nevertheless
declined to divest
from speeches the words falling "flat."

And thus, though she claims to have known
such words yielded "falling flat" zones,
she tells us:   "Ignore,
and thus don't deplore,
my words having meanings well-known."

And thus, the defense she's devised
for calling "latina[s]" more wise
invokes an old screed:
"What will you believe?
My words or your own lying eyes?"

Unspoken, remaining, there'll be
the
thoughts  and the knowledge that she
will leave on the shelf
to keep to herself
'til Justice confirmed she will be:

And once I'm a Justice empowered
with precedent-altering powers,
and thus not restrained
by precedents plain,
I'll "say-what-I-mean" be empowered.

Though some think I plainly eschewed
Obama's pro-emphathy view
of Justices' functions,
I'll prove his compunction
to nominate me was quite shrewd.  '

Cause once I'm a Justice I then
will fully be free to invent
the legal conclusion
that redistribution
of wealth was a founding intent
